DRIVER EDUCATION WILLIAM W. RAINES HIGH SCHOOL

Classes will be held in Room 233 and the Driving range at the back of William M. Raines High School. Instruction begins promptly at 3:00 pm and concludes at 6:00 pm Mondays and Wednesdays. Parents/guardians must ensure students are picked up on time, as supervision is not available after 6:00 pm.

A valid Learner's Permit is required prior to the start of the session.

Student Requirements:

• Dress appropriately for outdoor activities, as portions of the course will take place outside.
• Wear sneakers or other flat, closed-toe shoes always for safety. Flip-flops, sandals, and high heels are not permitted.

On the first day of class, students must provide:

• Date of Birth
• Last five digits of their Social Security Number

Vehicles will be provided for all driving instruction sessions.

Course Components

The Driver Education program consists of three components:

1. Classroom Instruction
2. Driving Range Training
3. On-Street Driving

Students must earn an average score of 70% or higher on all assessments in each component to qualify for a Driver's License Waiver.
