Aware NOT Afraid Martial Arts is a youth development martial arts program designed to help children build confidence, leadership, respect, self-discipline, street smart self defense, and stronger academic habits. Each class helps children strengthen their bodies, sharpen their minds, and develop the confidence needed to overcome challenges at school, at home, and throughout life. Through structured instruction, positive encouragement, and regular belt advancement, students will learn: Confidence and positive self-esteem Leadership and personal responsibility Respect for themselves and others Focus, discipline, and improved behavior Practical self-defense and safety awareness Balance, flexibility, coordination, and physical fitness Goal-setting, perseverance, and academic motivation Street smart kidnapping prevention techniques Bully prevention strategies Students have the opportunity to participate in belt testing every two months at the end of each quarter, where they demonstrate the skills and techniques they have learned. Successful students receive their next belt, a certificate, and medal recognizing their progress. This beginner-friendly crochet class for students in grades 1-5 introduces the basics of crochet through fun, hands-on projects. Students will learn foundational stitches, how to read simple patterns, and create small take-home items while building creativity, patience, and fine motor skills. Materials: One crochet hook and one skein of yarn are included in the class fee. Additional yarn and any other materials needed for future projects must be supplied by parents.

Dance Class introduces young dancers in grades K-3rd to a lively mix of dance styles—including jazz, hip-hop, ballet, and creative movement—in a playful, energetic setting. This class focuses on rhythm, coordination, flexibility, and self-expression through age-appropriate choreography and games. No prior dance experience needed—just bring comfortable clothes, a water bottle, and a big smile! Perfect for kids who love to move and want to build confidence through dance.

The JCA Sprouts Dance Enrichment Program is presented by Jacksonville Centre of the Arts (JCA), a premier dance institution entering its 30th year of dance excellence. For nearly three decades, JCA has inspired thousands of young dancers through exceptional instruction, creativity, and a commitment to excellence. Designed for preschool through 5th-grade students, JCA Sprouts brings professional dance instruction directly to schools, childcare centers, and community programs throughout Duval County. Program Highlights: One-hour classes taught by professional, engaging, and inspiring dance instructors. Classes offered in Ballet & Creative Movement or Hip-Hop. Fun, energetic, and structured classes that promote confidence, creativity, discipline, and teamwork. In this hands-on Minecraft Education club, students explore the vital role of bees and pollinators while completing engaging building and coding challenges. Along the way, they'll strengthen computational thinking, problem-solving, digital design, and collaboration skills as they create thriving habitats, protect ecosystems, and bring their ideas to life through Minecraft. Students are grouped by age and experience to ensure lessons, projects, and challenges are appropriately tailored to their skill level. No prior Minecraft coding experience is required.

Let your imagination run wild! In Mixed Media Art , students will dive into the colorful world of art by experimenting with a variety of materials and techniques. This is a perfect class for little artists that have their own vision and need a space to create!

Our Basketball Basics program focuses on building foundational skills through engaging drills and activities that develop dribbling, passing, shooting, and footwork in a fun, non-competitive environment. Students learn proper technique and basketball fundamentals while building confidence and coordination in a supportive, values-driven setting.

Get ready to run, pass, and play! This fun and active class introduces elementary students to the fundamentals of football in a safe, supportive, and non-contact environment. Through age-appropriate drills and games, participants will develop key skills such as throwing, catching, footwork, teamwork, and basic game strategy. Calling all young chefs! In this fun and flavorful class, students in grades 3–5 will dive into the world of cooking through hands-on culinary adventures. Each week, kids will explore new recipes from around the globe while learning essential kitchen skills like measuring, mixing, chopping (with kid-safe tools), and following a recipe. Along the way, they’ll discover the basics of nutrition, food science, and kitchen safety—all in a fun, creative, and supportive environment. All ingredients and supplies are provided. Young chefs, get ready to stir up some fun! In this hands-on cooking class, students in grades K–2 will explore the world of food through safe, age-appropriate cooking activities. Each week, kids will chop, mix, measure, and create delicious, kid-friendly recipes while learning about nutrition, kitchen safety, and international cuisines.
